YOUTH MINISTRY GRADES 7TH THROUGH 12th

We are meeting every week and are in concurrence with the attendance calendar of the Bainbridge Island School Districts except where Christmas and Easter are concerned, in these instances we adjourn by taking into consideration our own Holidays, usually two weeks before and two weeks after each Holiday.

The 7th, 8th and 9th grades meet on Sundays immediately following 10 am Mass and ends at 12:30 pm.

The 10th though the 12th grades meet on Wednesday evening at 6 pm until 7 pm.

There is also a special group of 7th through 12th graders who have shown an interest in learning more about the eternal mysteries, and have indicated a maturity level to know the truth in order to be set free by it.  For that reason we have formed a special society we have named the “Quasimodo Society,” in honor of “the Hunchback of Notre Dame,” who seems to have personally exemplified all the qualities that we find are truly Catholic/admirable.

Here we discuss many esoteric subjects, from the history of the Catholic Church, personal and community edification through the Sacraments, and ancient and contemporary issues of the day. This clandestine society meets at a secret time and location on the Parish grounds (contact Neill Raymond at 842 –1149 for more information).

We also do many fun things to round out the whole individual including:

Field trips:

River rafting

Ice skating

Museum, cathedral visiting, and etc.

Fencing, meets on Thursday evenings at 6 pm until 7:30 pm

World Youth Day, wherever it is and whenever it is, (this year it is in Cologne, Germany) is a happening thing with us here at St C’s, and you will witness many activities within the parish to achieve that end.  We have stopped short of money changing in the church.

We are currently helping our Parish host the “Super Suppers” at Conger Hall the last Wednesday of the month for our hungry brethren.

Our patrons are our Blessed Mother, Saint Cecilia as well as Saint John Bosco, and Fr. Flanagan.  We continually pray for their intersession in all we do, and we hope you will pray along with us as well.
