Traditional Choir

Beginning in 1989, the Parish Choir formed under Bill Pelandini, music director, provided support to congregational singing at the 10:00 AM Mass and enhanced the liturgy with singing of choir anthems by various composers, both traditional and contemporary. The choir attracts additional singers for major feasts and instrumentalists have been recruited for special occasions.  Nancy Dorsey became the present choir director and organist at the 10:00 AM Mass in August 1996.

Piano/Guitar Group

The Piano/Guitar group evolved from a rich tradition of liturgical folk music which began at St. Cecilia's in 1979. The original group provided music continuously from 1979 to 1989 for Sunday Masses. In 1993, a new group was formed by Gail Giacomazzi (guitar) and Rosemary Engle (piano) and a number of singers. The group draws its repertoire from a wide variety of contemporary Catholic composers. Presently, the Piano/Guitar Group sings one Sunday a month at the 10:00 AM Mass.

Organist/Cantor

The cantor/organist  ministry alternates Saturday 5pm masses with the Filapino Choir.  Organist Joanna McAtee relies on many talented cantors to enrich the evening masses at St. Cecilia. Joanna and her husband, Jeff, also direct the St. Cecilia’s Youth Choir.  This choir traditionally sings at one Saturday evening mass in December, and at the Children’s Mass on Christmas Eve.

Compline Choir

Compline is sung by the Bainbridge Men's Compline Choir at St. Cecilia's at 8:00 PM on the first Sunday of the month from October through May. Begun in 1992 under Bill Pelandini, director, it has become a popular ecumenical devotional service, with attendance averaging between 60 and 75 people each month, including many non-Catholics. The choir is made up of 14 men from local Presbyterian, Episcopal, Congregational, and Lutheran churches, as well as from St. Cecilia's and St. Olaf's. Music is all a cappella and consists largely of chant and motets for men's voices.

Women's Schola

The Women's Schola is a group of women who sing the Vespers service at 8:00 PM on the third Sunday of each month (except June-August) at St. Cecilia's under the direction of Rod Blackburn. Their music is Gregorian chant and contemplative in nature. The group was founded in 1993 by Paul Roy, Music Director at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island.
