The Legion of Mary undertakes spiritual works of mercy and
evangelization, including home visits, visiting those who have left the
Church and inviting them back. The Legion seeks to console those
suffering from grief, loneliness, and sickness. The Legion visits young
families to congratulate and encourage them on occasions of Baptism and
First Holy Communion. Monthly visits to Island Health & Rehabilitation
Center and Messenger House include Mass said by our pastor, whenever
possible.
The Active members of the Legion of Mary meet weekly in the music room
at St. Cecilia’s Church, Thursday mornings following 9 a.m. Mass. The
members perform two hours of apostolic work per week. The Auxiliary, or
praying members, say the Rosary and the Legion prayers daily, for Mary’s
intentions.
