Haiti Relief Minutes of Past Business Meetings Meeting Minutes - Apr 2010 Meeting Minutes - Dec 2009 Faith Center Dedication On June 27, 2010, Archbishop Alexander Brunett celebrated Mass along with Pastor Fr. Emmett Carroll and former pastors Fr. Godley and Fr. Sevilla. After Mass, His Excellency blessed the new building and cut the ribbon, marking the official opening of our new faith center! Fourth degree knights served as honor guard, including Brother Anthony Farrell: Finishing Our Faith Center There is a marvelous video
showing the progress of building the St. Cecilia's new Faith Center
Building. Deputy Grand Knight Daniel Luzzo is featured in the
video and describes how he will be leading the effort to finish the
Faith Center by raising the additional $500,000 that is needed to
complete the landscaping, furnishings and other aspects of the building
that the city requires before issuing a certificate of
occupancy. March
For Life 2010 On January 19, 2010 an
estimated 7,000
people gathered at the State Capitol in Olympia for the 32nd annual
March For Life. St. Cecilia's parish was represented by
several
parishoners, including Brother Patrick Rooney
Chef
Anthony Farrell (on
right) and sous-chef Patrick Rooney pose after their labors on the
December St. Nicholas Festival dinner, which raised money for youth
scholarships, seminarians and religious education programs in the
parish. Brother Anthony is our only 4th degree Knight and is
one
of the founders of our Council. Good work, men! ![]()

Paul Vitello helping out at the St. Nicholas Festival; the kids loved
the games and the carols and the food...thanks, Paul! (What is that red object
he's holding?)
Last June, our Council awarded
three graduating high school seniors with a scholarship of $1,000 per
student. Each student
had to submit an essay on why they were deserving of the scholarship
and what they would do with the money. All three students wrote
letters thanking the Knights, two of which we reproduce below: To
Grand Knight Mr. Dick Hassell and The Knights of Columbus, Hello,
I would like to formally voice my thanks to the Knights of Columbus for
donating one thousand dollars to my education. It has
relieved a
little of the burden from my fall tuition at Virginia Tech. I
know that there were only supposed to be two scholarships, and wold
also like to thank you for allowing more students to benefit from yur
generosity. I also appreciate you honoring us at the August
1st
dinner. Sincerely, Michael ************************* Dear
Grand Knight Hassell, Thank
you for awarding me the $1,000 scholarship. It is greatly
appreciated. I will use the money to purchase my books for
school
this year. You have made my transition into college much
easier. Please convey my thanks to all the Knights in the
Council. Sincerely
yours, Andrew
